Ikaria Workcamp 2007
Estia Agios Nikolaos
Estia Agios Nikolaos is a small community in Galaxidi, Greece, where people with and without disabilities live and work together. People share their daily life at home and at the workshops that run throughout the year (except summer): pottery, handicrafts, and gardening. Also, leisure activities are organized for those who want to join. This is the only community of this type in Greece.

Camp provides almost four weeks of free time activities, creative workshops for 150 children with a disadvantaged background. Lavrio - Creative Activities for Children in the Reception Center for Asylum Seekers
The workcamp in Lavrio is one of the historical workcamps of SCI Hellas. Since several years SCI Hellas and the Center for Asylum Seekers of Lavrio collaborate organizing a workcamp that lasts two weeks during the second part of August. The main objective of the workcamp is to organize creative activities with the families and especially the children of the asylum seekers of Lavrio during the mornings.
The Center for Asylum Seekers of Lavrio is run by the Red Cross and it's the only one officially recognized by the Greek state. The refugee camp provides to the asylum seekers food, medical support as legal aid and helps the children to get integrated into the school. Until some years ago the camp provided also a school, but then the teachers with the social workers thought that was better to integrate the children in the local schools.
